Hudson and I went to last night's game against the St Louis Cardinals. We got to our seats just as the athem ended. It was a warm evening. Hudson was not too excited about going to the game, but right from the start he got into it as the leadoff batter, Acuna singled, then promptly stole second then third, where he was driven in for the tying run by batter number three, Olson. Then Riley hit a homer to make the game 3-1 with one out. Hudson was into it bigtime now. Up and cheering and clapping. Next came a double, an out and then another homer. Hudson was over the moon, 5-1. Is the game over when the Braves finally made the third out with the ninth batter of the inning? No we got eight more. He was awestruck. He calculated what the rest of the game would be like based on what he saw. We had hot dogs, popcorn, and he got a souvenir hat. Before leaving we went to the kid's shop to get his brother a shirt, hat, and tomahawk for Friday's game. When we got to the car, he looked at his watch and was amazed that we were there for three hours and the game wasn't over, it was 10 pm and he was way past his bedtime, he informed me. We listened to the end of the game on the way home. He was wide awake when I dropped him off with his father. I drove home and jumped into the pool and spent the rest of the night with my love. It's good being G'pa.

This seems as good a day to begin these musings. I've been absent for some time. In fact I have deleted much of my former writing that was on a Blog titled CyberEnglish. It consisted of writings while I taught and then book reviews in my early days of retirement.
Now I'm ten years into my retirement in Georgia near my grandsons. My granddaughters live in Pennsylvania. I'm spending six months of the year on the road, except during Covid. Now I'm back on the road. My lady and I have taken a house in New Orleans for three months, Nov 1 to Feb 5, when we return in the Scamp for the last two weeks of Mardi Gras.
Before Nov 1, though, we will be in GA enjoying, a new pool, the boys, and baseball. I got 4 tickets to Braves games for them.We have the Friday night package which includes 12 weekday games. At the end of August my love and I will be traveling to Assateague for two weeks of beach camping then to LI to Wildwood SP for a week, most of which will be in NYC visiting my love's son. Then across LI sound via ferry to RI and then up coast to ME and eventually Camden SP. From there across NE to see my sister in NH, a mutual friend in VT, my other sister in Binghamton, the birthplace of my love, and then to my oldest daughter and the twins in PA on the way home.
Being a homeowner has changed my life as I always have projects. Today I have a game with Hudson, 6, the older grandson. Jackson is four years younger. First a swim.
